Course Exemption Information

BAMSI will grant students exemption for prior studies or professional experience. Requests for exemption should be made during the admission process.
Exemption will not be awarded for Research Methods, Directed Studies, Farm Skills or Student Success.
Students will be assigned a grade of EX for exempted courses. The EX grade will not be calculated in the GPA; however, the course credits will count toward the student's degree.
To be considered for exemption, a grade of C or better must have been obtained in the course.
A maximum of nine (9) credits for any programme may be obtained through challenge examination.
Research courses and courses with a laboratory component will not be considered for challenge examination.

How to Apply for Exemption

Register in the course you are applying to be exempted from. Attend all classes until an exemption has been granted.
Complete this Course Exemption application.
Provide supporting documentation to assist in the evaluation of your application. This may include an official transcript showing the course(s) for which exemption is requested, along with the applicable course description and outline.
Where professional experience is being used as the basis for exemption, provide professional references confirming the relevant work experience.
